March 25, 2020: Moving always toward profound love of God and neighbor without distinction brought the first Sisters of St. Joseph to St. Paul in November 1851. In 1853, because of the cholera epidemic, the Sisters closed the school they had just started, sent the children home, and took in those who were sick until St. Joseph’s Hospital could be built. The Ministries Foundation has been working hard to continue our mission during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Our mission continues to be to provide health care for those without insurance, education for those learning a new way of life, advocate for social justice and safety for those who need hope and healing. The need has not changed, and our mission is now more important than ever. Thank you for your lasting support of our work, the Sisters, and the ministries. We are stronger together and pray for your well-being and the well-being of the world.

O Holy One of All that is Good, we know that the world is waiting; that the cry of the dear neighbor impels us to go deeper, to journey farther, to respond boldly and creatively. On this Feast Day of our Patron Joseph, inspire and enliven us as we work together for the healing of the world. May each step we take be a life-giving way for another. May our turning and returning trace pathways of peacemaking. May we always be attentive to all who are hurting or in need. Urge us onward, that we may dare to be prophetic. Amen.
