About Us
As one of the largest religious orders in the country, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (or CSJ for short) plays both a very public and an intensely private, behind-the-scenes role in communities throughout the world. With roots in 17th century France, the Sisters pursue their original mission of service to God and neighbor with undiminished devotion today, demonstrating leadership, courage and compassion where they are needed most – from immigrant issues and elder care to health care and human trafficking.
The CSJ St. Paul Province was established in 1851. Through its five primary ministries and related programs, the Sisters’ passion and influence are working small miracles everyday, from the Twin Cities to the far corners of the world, through a human network of help, hope and healing.
